Overview
The Delta Force is known by many names. It is known as Combat Applications Group (CAG), Army Compartmented Elements (ACE), and 1st Special Forces operational detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D). The soldiers within Delta are known to call it " The Unit." It serves many roles as part of the army such as: hostage rescue, the capture and/or elimination of terrorists, gathering information on terrorist threats, protection, and unconventional warfare. They are organized in a very similar way to the British special forces, SAS. Delta has three squadron: the A,B, C, and so on squadrons. The Delta Force takes its command from Joint Special Operations Command(JSOC). This group is very different from the typical army group because they tend to do their own thing. They are not required to salute to a commanding officer when he passses in front of him, unlike most soldiers in the army. They occasionally wear civilian clothes when on a mission, so they blend in and don't attract any attention.
